IPhoto Resizing Help - 09-19-2007, 10:42 PM

I do not have any photo processing softwear yet except what came with our Mac's IPhoto. I need to send four pics to our camera club and need to resize them to 72 dpi then resize it down to 1024 by 768 pixels. I have tried doing a File Export and it allowed me to enter the dimensions but the only way I was able to do that was thru Quick Time and it wound up making it a movie.

Is there any simple way to resize my pics and them email them to the club? Thanks

I do not have any photo processing softwear...

Larry, you may want to try an application called "Gimp". It's a free Open Source application that has most of the functionality of Photoshop. Just Google and it give it a shot.

Larry-you may find some useful information on this thread too regarding free/trial editing software.

So is there just no way to resize a picture in IPhoto and make it a certain dimension?

Not that I'm aware of. Perhaps a search of the IPhoto Forum on the Apple support site could provide an answer. Good Luck.

AFAIK there's no way to resize the full shot to a certain dimension, but you can "constrain" a crop to certain dimensions. Gimpshop works fine in OS X, though you need to have X11 installed from the install DVD as it is an X-windows application and required X11 to run.

Which iPhoto version is it? I'm using the current one.
You should just do:
Click Share
Email
and the options will appear for sizing
and then mac mail should open with the pics attached.
Hope this helps
