Hi Renae ... I'm thinking in reverse to this equation. I want my images to get small and have terrible resolution, but look good on a web-page ...

To answer your question, it has always been recommended to me when resizing images in photoshop ... (Alt-Ctrl-I) ...

1) to reduce size use .... Bicubic Sharper (best for reduction)

2) to increase size use .... Bicubic Smoother (best for enlargements)

Since you are starting with 64x480 there may be a limit to how large you can increase the photo without decreasing the quality of the image. Can you imagine how great it would be to take a photo with a cell phone and be able to create a high detail resolution 16x20 wall print ? I don't think there's any software algorithm out there that can do that, and just think .. if it could .... why would anyone need a $10k camera capable of creating a high resolution image, other than a cell phone if this was possible ?

take care.
Randy

Well I didn't want to go that big!!!! but you do have a good point??? but all these uppety photographers say it's not the camera that makes the photo good, but the photographer so that kind means you should be able to use a camera phone right???

Thanks for making me think Randy...

Uppety ? Not here on TPF !!! Not allowed !!! ha-ha ....

I would think that would be a fun challenge for somebody to start ...

"Using ONLY your cell phone ... submit your "best" photo .... "

I would dare to think that the "uppety" photographers that understand lighting, ratios, and decent composition would probably do very well with this challenge, even with a "cell" phone camera. Just my prediction. I believe the camera is strictly an instrument to capture light. How a picture becomes a creation, is dependent upon the person managing that instrument.

So after I do that work to this sorry photo...my sister has the nerve to take it to Walgreens and have it blown up to an 8 x 10!!!! Luckily she is not totally stupid and wondered if it was my photoshop skills or the camera...so she takes the original photo to Walgreens and finds out....its time for a new camera!!!
