If you're reading the "website talk" forum you'll see that I purchased a new winklet template. My challenge now is to take images that I want to publish and resize/crop to get them down to 475x390 pixels. Any suggestions on an efficient way to do this in CS2. If any of you are using portfolio template 23 and have any implementation suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

Hum... There's gotta be a more efficient way. Does anyone know if there is a way to create a selection box that is a specific size? I need to crop a bunch of photos to a certain size, and would like to be able to move around a certain size selection box to make my crop from. Any thoughts?

Yes, go to the marquee tool... select the rectangular marquee.....in the toolbar select "Fixed Ratio" from the drop down menu and enter 475 px and 390 px

You can then save that as a preset if you like. The reason you want fixed ratio versus fixed size is that with the ratio it will allow you to better adjust your marquee for the composition you like. Once you get it where you want it, select "Crop" under the image menu.

That's just one of about a hundred ways to do it but it works and it's easy.

Be aware that the default method of interpolation will be used when you resize with the marquee or crop tools. The default is bicubic, but you might consider bicubic sharper for downsizing.
