I may have jacked this one all up! Is there anyway that this can be resized to 8x10 without cutting the important stuff out of this photo?!?!?! I have a friend that wants this printed as an 8x10 but I don't know if I can resize it without cutting part of the dog out?!?! Please help!

Afraid not. You'll have to crop the paws off the bulldog for an 8x10. I know you'd rather not, but it doesn't look that bad. Or reshoot it. Being a friend, he'd probably understand.

Same as what John said about cutting off pups feet <:o(

Only other option would be find a way to extend either of the sides so that you have more room to play with. But since you don't have a lot of anything to work with on either side - this would probably require a bunch of pp time and effort!

I had one shot from a wedding that was a really close up of them in their first dance. They wanted it at an 8x10 but didn't want to cut off the top or bottom of the shot. They opted to have it printed with the pic centered and leaving a white "border" on either side. It worked well on that one - but it was a very soft b&w pic... don't think that would work on this one...

good luck!

That's what I was afraid of...I just sent them a cropped version to see if they like it...I also gave them the option of a 5x7...or we can redo it (since we are neighbors)! Thanks all for taking a stab at it. I think I really knew the answer already...but I was kinda throwing it out for a miracle to catch or something along those lines!

It depends on what you (and the client) are willing to live with. I'm no PS expert but I know enough about cloning to do something like this:

Here's the full size mod in 8x10 format.

Up to you... This was very quick so don't judge my skills on the quality...

You could do this if a reshoot isn't possible. The image is 6x8, canvas 8x10. Would look pretty good once framed.

Sometimes people don't realize that sizes other than 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10 even exist... or they just assume they are constrained by the pre-made frames down at Hobby Lobby. I had a bride order 10x10s of their engagements. I was choppin limbs left and right, with her consent. Weird. Couldn't hurt to push them to another size, right?

Damn Joe - - I knew someone around here could do this! You nailed it...great, one more tool in the Photoshop arsenal to learn! I would really like them to have this as an 8x10 so I'm gonna have to figure out where to go from here.

Thanks Joe - truly amazing!

The bottom stair step needs work and the picture is off center but it's either that or try and figure out how to clone that floor (no thanks!).

Not sure if I understand the last sentence. Is the full size version not going to work?

No..No..No...It works GREAT! I was referring to me trying to master the cloning tool! Sorry for the confusion! I think that they will love the photo just the way it is!

Bud, if I can do it, that usually means it's one of those "30 seconds to master" type things...

My lab prints 8x12 which is the same format as 4x6 which is the best solution over masking to an 8x10. Can use a 11x14 matted frame to save the expense of a custom frame.
PS. Putting those crops in a frame will crop the head or come pretty close to it.
