actions disappeared - 10-26-2007, 09:58 AM

So I started up photoshop this morning and it gave me an error about loading actions. So once it started I noticed all my palettes were reset and my actions weren't loaded. I went to load them and all the actions I created are gone I can't find them anywhere and didn't have them backed up in a different folder! So I guess this means I've lost them. Has this happened to anyone else before? Even after a restart the actions are no longer there, so is there somewhere else the could be stored on the computer? I haven't restarted the computer yet, only cs2.

If XP, check here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets\Actions

Have you tried looking in:
WIN XP
C:\Documents and Settings\[your login]\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop CS2\Presets\Actions

WIN VISTA
C:\Users\[your login]\Application Data\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop CS2\Presets\Actions

or

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS2\Presets\Actions

yep even tried searching for all .atn files and got nothing. Guess they really are all gone, though I'm not sure what caused it and in
C:\Documents and Settings\[your login]\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop CS2\Presets\Actions
there is nothing after photoshopCS2, even checked all possible logins to make sure. may have something to do with that demo of cs3 I installed cause the folder is named cs3 instead of cs2. Guess I'll just rerecord some of them. They were mainly frame actions.

You don't need to copy all the actions to the folder
The actions can work from any locations, including removable drives
One thing you need, it's double click on action from any location
