Converting Slides and Prints to Digital - 10-27-2007, 10:11 AM

Just need advice on converting my slides and prints to jpegs. I was wondering if
you can rent a high quality scaner or if I should look to buy? I don't shoot film or slides anymore and don't really want to invest in a high quality convertor. Any thoughts greatly appericated.

I have a slide that I need a print of 20x30 , where the best local place to have a print made
in DFW area?

Thanks
Charles

i scanned my prints on a regular scanner, some at 300dpi, some at 600dpi - depended on the photo.

for slides - i used a minolta dimage scanner - worked great - but took forever.

There are a couple of rental places over in Dallas but I don't know if they rent scanners.

I know there are places that will scan prints and slides, the quality varies.

BWC in Dallas has done good work for me in the past.
Film Develop , and Large Format Prints.

They are across the street from Elliot's Hardware in Dallas.

Look around on the Internet I know there are other places in Dallas that can handle really large prints, like 10' wide...
