Oops! help with white balance - 11-04-2007, 07:49 AM

On Halloween, I took my camera down to the cul-de-sac street party, switched to JPEG mode instead of RAW, and took some pics of the neighborhood kids. Got them home, and realized my WB was on florescent, not auto or daylight, so now everyone is blue!!

Is there an easy way to fix this in CS2 or Lightroom given the files are JPEG and not RAW? I'd like to give the kids/parents copies of the pics, but not if they're blue!

Thanks,
Cindy

You might try auto color adjustment and if that doesn't give you what you like, try adjusting the blue channel in curves. So many methods are available, hopefully a real CS expert will chime in. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing.

I think CS3 and Lightroom will give you Auto, custom and as shot options on Jpeg. If you don't have Lightroom or CS3 post one or send it to me and I can try it for you.

If you have LR it's pretty simple. Import everything, then tweak one picture with either auto WB, or adjust it till it looks good, then sync that WB to the rest of the pictures and you should be all set.
