Have to share this Lightroom plug-in - 12-28-2007, 11:15 PM

I just installed ImageMagick and a Lightroom "Mogrify" plug-in that definitely bumps up post processing automation in Lightroom. You can read more about it here. http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/599562

This plug-in allows you to export from LR and select 1) the size of your image export, 2) sharpening 3) borders 4) add a watermark 5) automatically FTP image to your website and I'm sure there are a couple of things I left out.

Looks like a winner to me.

Hope it helps TPF members also.

Couldn't get to work with LR 1.1, I wonder if it only for 1.3?

Viet,
I used the windows binary 16 bit .exe of LightMagick, installed it, then extracted the LR/Mogrify zip file to c:/program files/adobe/lightroom 1.3/modules. After restarting LR, the option to use LR/Mogrify is available under export. I didn't think it installed properly at first either. Go to File, export and when the export window opens look to the right of the top box where it says export files to disc. You should see a drop down arrow, click it, select LR/Mogrify and the plug-in should show up.

If it does not you will have to contact the author of the plug-in. I don't recall reading anything on his site that said it would only work with LR 1.3.

LR/Mogrify - 12-29-2007, 11:42 AM

Well, I'm not thinking my set up is special, so here are screen shots of the files I used, where I put them and what the end result is.
First, Install ImageMagick. I used the EXE file from the first screen shot.
Then I extracted the LR/Mogrify zip file to the directory in the second screen shot.
The third screen shot is what you should see after you go to "file", "export" and select the drop down arrows on the right end of the "export files to disc" block and select LR/Mogrify from the drop down arrows. Note that I use a C:/ drive for data storage and F:/ for my OS. Change yours accordingly.
Hope this helps.

Got it installed and working. I can see some benefit to this plugin. I just got to play with it a little. Wish I could get the watermark to show up in one of the thick borders instead of on the picture itself. If I had that feature my blog work flow would speed up tremendously.

I had an issue with LR update 1.4 killing the mogrify plugin. Even after putting the mogrify files back in the module directory, I could not get it to work. So I restored to a pre 1.4 date and then re-installed the 1.3 and 1.3.1 updates

I use the mogrify tool all the time. I'll wait to hear from someone else that has sucessfully upgraded to LR 1.4 and not lost the mogrify tool before I try again.

DAANG IT!

It died on me too with my 1.4 upgrade. This ticks me off as I also use it constantly.

Just started using and learning Lightroom and updated to 1.4.
Hope they update this plugin, because it sounds good.
