First try at retouching - 01-28-2008, 07:17 PM

Since I just became the proud (and much less wealthy) owner of Photoshop CS3, I figured I'd better learn to use it. Tracy made some great suggestions for the retouching stuff, and I combined them with about 320919843 different methods I've read online recently. There's definitely room for improvement, but for a first try I'm pleased w/ the results. Lacking an abundance of models here in Iraq - I just used self-portraits, but here are the before/after results of two I retouched. #2 wasn't exactly sharp to begin with, but I think I overdid the smoothing.

Nice. What tools, etc... did you use? I've been wanting to tinker with re-touching photos like you've done. Any hints/websites/books I can refer to would be most helpful as well. Thanks in advance.
