My Lightroom thread! - 01-31-2008, 09:38 AM

If I may be so bold! I have read thru a few of the others and while there seem to be answers in them I will need eventually they are in general ahead of me. First question I have. After using lightroom for about 6 months as basically just my importing software I lost it last week with an Icrat(I think) file error. I had never backed up system nor had I done the 1.1 update. Everything was fine for me I thought. Anyways I just deleted Lightroom from my computer and reloaded it. Also did the 1.1 update. Now it does not automatically detect my camera card when inserted and I have to start it manually. Have looked and looked for a setting to change it. I am not computer savy type person so go easy on me! Thanks

Launch LR. Press Ctrl + comma, select the import tab, make sure the appropriate box is selected.

Mine has started behaving a bit different. Used to lauch the import window whenever I put a card in the reader. Now it launches LR, have to pull the card out and re-insert it before it auto imports. Annoying, but liveable.

Did it and the proper box was checked already. Redid it just to be sure. Still have the same problem

Not sure what else to tell you then. Perhaps it's time to join the LR forum at Adobe and ask the experts.

While I am not sure where the program is located, I do know that there is a service/taskbar program that runs on start-up called "Adobe Photo Downloader"

you might check to make sure that program is running in the taskbar section of your computer (if you are running windows that is) and is running at startup.

My problems have persisted and have gotten worse. I did find the Adobe Lightroom help forum and got a very quick reply to my post. I'll try it tonight and see if everything goes back to normal. Our world without computers was such a happy time!

Yup. Tri-X 1.0 never gave me any problems. None of my cameras ever display Er 99 either.
