Newbie: Photoshop Elements

Hey guys, Im an amateur, far from a professional like most of you. I recently got a copy of Photoshop Elements 6 from my work. Iv never really used the program, but was told there are plugins and filters that work wonders if you get the right ones.

Im wondering if anyone knows of any good ones? Or what are some good basic steps for enhancing my average pictures I take?

Any advice and help is greatly appreciated!!!

Get a good PSE book like Scott Kelby's book (any book store should have it in stock) and learn the basics.

Also, there's several free video podcasts for Photoshop Elements, including Photoshop Elements Quicktips. Also, Photoshop Elements magazine.

Scott, I've read really good things about Elements 6.0 and as another newbie, find it much less intimidating. There's plenty to learn about the basic processing available. Learn that first. Plug-ins and filters are specialty items and they're only valuable if they do what you want done to a photo. By the time you get comfortable with what comes will the "standard" software, you'll have learned more and be ready to get just what you want.

iTunes (which is also free from Apple). Just do a search for Photoshop Elements once you download/install iTunes.
