Aperture vs Lightroom - 02-12-2008, 09:35 PM

I'm fairly new to post production, in spite of the fact that I've had a Digital SLR for some time. I was happy to import into iphoto and maybe hit enhance, and maybe a few things in Photoshop elements.

Then I went to the 'Captivated by the Light' Seminar and after seeing the Lightroom demos, downloaded a trial to Lightroom, and realized some of what I've been missing.

Then today, Aperture 2.0 came out and I downloaded that trial and have been looking at it.

I'm sure that I need one of them, but not sure which.

Cross platform doesn't matter to me. While I own a PC, I always use the mac if I have the choice. If I pick Aperture, and save a hundred bucks in the process, am I missing anything?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Steve, I am an Aperture user and love it.
However, many will say the same for Lightroom.
It's what you feel more comfortable with, so try them both and pick one.
Whichever one you pick will be great.

I used Aperture, but switched to LR, but now switching back to Aperture since 2.0 was released today.
Search the forum for Aperture and you will find my explanation on what the strengths and weaknesses of each were.
