This was my first shoot with strobes, backgrounds, etc. Is there hope for getting rid of the green appearance on the skin?

Dave,
The following method works in many cases (but is not a fix for all cases -- YMMV) -- it is an easy method to check out. The following steps are based on Photoshop

1. Duplicate the background layer
2. Select the duplicate background layer
3. Filter > Blur > Average (this produces a solid color matching the color cast)
4. Open Levels Adjustment Layer, click duplicate background layer image with the middle (gray set) eyedropper.
5. Deselect layer visibility icon (eyeball) of duplicate background layer
6. Tweak the adjustment levels layer opacity to suit taste (~15-50% is "normal")

The images below are with this process - the first one is with the Normal blending mode and the second is with the Overlay blending mode

Normal Blending (@17% opacity)

Overlay Blending (@23% opacity)

PM me if you would like the Photoshop PSD file with all the layers.

Here's my take on it. I just used a curve adjustment layer on color mode and tweaked the blue and green curves a bit to adjust the skin tones. Then I converted to LAB and appled the A and B channels to themselves in Overlay mode at 7% opacity. Mine tilts slightly more towards yellow/bronze in the skin while John's pushes more on the Magentas. It's really a matter of taste.

BTW, the thing to watch for with John's method is that it's a global fix that will throw off neutrals. I can't get a good reading on the white in the shirt, but if it started out as white, John's method will make it a light magenta. It doesn't seem to have created a problem here. But it is worth knowing.

Here is my rendition. I did a hue saturation adjustment layer correcting the green channel. I saw more of a yellow- green cast , so I took the image to LAB, I put a curves adjustment layer and play with the A and b channel til a got this image.
