A lot of photographers find that they want to go back to the way things were when they shot film: send it all to the lab and let someone else handle the color correction and overall quality. Paid post-production work is mostly about consistency and speed. Most jobs are paid on a per job basis so depending on how fast one works equals the hourly rate of a photoshop professional. That definitely isn't to say, speed is everything when it comes to post-production. Quality and consistency are equally important in our company because we strive to create lasting long-term relationships, basically as an offsite employee.
