HELP with CS2 file name change - 04-20-2008, 10:28 PM

I shot a lot of softball pics today of my daughters team with my new D300 in jpeg. Went home, pulled them up in bridge, selected them all, then opened up tools/batch rename and renamed them all. When i went to open them up they all had file type: "file", not jpeg anymore. I don't know what i did wrong but i can't do anything with the files. How did i screw this up and is there a way to reverse what i did or save them back as a jpeg or tiff file? They show up in Bridge only and each file is 5.5MB.

it sounds like you overwrote the .jpg extension,so Windows doesn't know what to do with them. Do the same thing again, and add .jpg to the file name you want. That should fix your problem.
