My FIRST attempt at using Photoshop... - 05-01-2008, 11:40 AM

I have had photoshop on my last two computers, and I just recently got CS3, but there is one catch......i have never known how to use photoshop

I just had it on my computer, and I would call people over to do what I needed to get done in photoshop for me. well, I got tired of doing that, so i decided to play with it and try to learn it for myself. with the help of some tutorials on youtube.com, i finally learned how to use layers, and how to extract backgrounds and combine elements to make a single photo. now i'm not great by no means (hell, i've only been at it for 2 days so far), but i think that i am doing pretty good for someone who had absolutely NO knowledge of how photoshop worked just two days ago. check it out, and tell me what you think. it was done in CS3 and is comprised of 4 different photos.

C&C please...

I think this is really good! Really amazing that you've only just picked it up.

I have PS as well, but cannot grasp layers! At work I do graphics using Quark, CorelDraw and only dabble in PS doing the basics. This is something I really want to learn, too. Thanks for the youtube tip. I'm going to check that out.

I think it looks good too! You pick things up quick!
I think that since your doing so awesome see if you can remove the distracting high line wires.

I just started learning photoshop too. There's so much you can do with it. The only thing you can do is to work with it and check out all the tutorials online. I usually sift through the ones at deviant art. I've never been an artist so I need to learn shading and lighting as well. I'm sure you'll progress just fine with practice.
