I want to ask what y'all think of these before and after processing.
It's the first time I've tried patterns and I've be trying to teach myself something new. First one is standard processing. Second has pattern applied and layer masked and painted. Blast away if needed because I want to learn.

Roy,

First note my bias: I don't really like textures or patterns very much. I have only seen a handful that actually improved the image. A truly great image doesn't need it.

If you wanted to make the pictures to look like they did not have the fixer properly washed off them, then you succeeded. Do you really think the PP ones look BETTER???

Roy,
I do like textures but for a different approach, like a CD covers or promotional stuff for music bands and things of that nature. IMHO in this case the textures are not working properly with the images, I like the original version better.

Thanks guys. No, I don't think the pp looks any better but it is different and I see it used where I find the process interesting. I wouldn't turn these in to a client as the results of an assigned event. This was just an experiment to get some feedback about using patterns and when and why and as I said, it was my first attempt at it. I certainly appreciate the feedback. It's honest and that's what I wanted to hear.
