Bay photo seems to be about the easyist. You could also build them in photoshop or software like it.

Interesting that you ask... I just had to throw one together last night for my son's soccer team. Something very simple, but I was relatively happy with how it came out. I used Lumapix Fotofusion Extreme and just built it from scratch. The prints came out nice for the party tonight.

Nice job; is that an expensive box of software, Andrew?

Mike, you can do it with CS2 and a lot of work. Bay photo has the templates online and you just add your photos to it, upload, pay, and wait for UPS.

I use Paint Shop Pro to do similar to Andrew's work.

Yes. The software is pretty expensive for the version I have... but it pays for itself. It can be used for all kinds of things (albums especially) and speeds up the process 100x for me over using Photoshop or similar.

They have 3 different versions with various functionality. I bought the EXTREME which is the best...but the others are quite capable.

I looked at it and if I start doing enough of that kind of work for it to pay for itself then I would at least buy the mid level version of the software. I would use it mostly for sports stuff

It's entirely up to you as to what kind of a background you use, however, CS2 can do this in about 20 minutes with clipping masks to build a reusable template. After you build the template you will need to resize the images to fit (can be done with the transform tool, but it's easier if your images are resized to fit your frames first).

For me.., it's better to know how to accomplish something in CS2 than to know where to spend more money on third party plug-ins/programs.

YMMV

Not sure what makes this a 3rd party plugin/program? Why isn't CS2 a third party app for Lumapix? LOL

For me, since I already know how to do it in Photoshop and have done templates for other things in the past, I find this program (and many others for that matter) a huge time saver. All resizing, Frames, Masks, transforming, opacity, etc are customizable on the fly and there are tons of templates. The ease to pump something out unique is well worth it to me. It outputs to web, email for proofing, all sorts of Album formats among other things...

For me, I don't mind spending money on tools that allow me to make money and spend more time with my family.
