I need help with RAW - 06-04-2008, 04:16 PM

I'm sure this might have been posted before... But I need help...

I'm shooting in RAW and I need to figure out how to get it into photoshop?

How can I edit them in bridge? I may be waaay off on this questions but I'm totally lost with this!!! Back when I was in school for photograpy is was all film... And I have not taken the time out to learn certain aspects of digital!!!

Anyone have some step by step instructions or something?

Depending on what version of photoshop you're using you should have Camera RAW. I use both CS2 and 3, they both allow me to edit with Camera RAW.

I don't use Bridge cause I'm too lazy to learn it.

In CS2. File>open>navigate to image and double click.

It will open a RAW window and you can then adjust and open it in CS.

Somebody want to give a quick tutorial re: bridge would be nice......

You may have an outdated version of camera raw. You can get a free update from adobe.

Go to help in CS2 and update it. It will install the plugin you need.

im really new to it myself but it seems to be very similar to windows explorer. Except you can tag rate and do all sorts of junk to help organize your photos. You can also set it to when you open an image it opens it in Camera RAW or CS3.

I am using CS 2, but I had to download the "RAW file converter" in order for me to be able to edit the images in bridge.
