Question Photoshop CS2 Tutoring for beginners? - 06-05-2008, 10:05 PM

Howdy! Does anyone have suggestions for finding basic learning tutorials on the web for using PhotoshopCS2?

Any good books y'all recommend that has step by step directions on HOW to use the different tools, filters, layers and mask layers, etc. in PhotoshopCS2 and can give me guidance as to WHEN to use each tool, how and why it is used?

Sometimes I can succeed in what I want to be done to a photo and I don't know why it worked. Other times, nothing I try is doing what I want done and I don't know why. Hence, the reason for my above 2 questions.

lynda.com offers video tutorials. I think some are free and some require a $25/month membership.

I also just started playing with CS2 and found the tutorials on PopPhoto gave a good start.

December 2007 had a good basic Layers one that was a helpful start.

I also heard about Kelby's books but have not yet checked them out. I just tried CS2 last night for the first time.

Photoshop Killer Tips-they have some great tutorials and they are free. Matt Klowskowsky from photoshop user TV has a daily tutorial. You can learn allot from following and the presentation is quite clear.
