A little Photoshop assistance please?

I was wondering if someone could do a little quick gratis Photoshop work on this attached snapshot of our new puppy. This is his "super dog" pose and I was hoping that someone could eliminate (or bur out) the background so it's not so distracting. I have never done any photo manipulation and don't have any software to do so with. So I'd appreciate it if one of you guys could help me out.

here you go. I did a quick extraction in Photoshop and blurred the background. Also tweaked levels and curves a bit to increase the contrast. send me a PM with an e-mail address if you want the jpg file e-mailed to you.

Thanks John! You guys did the hard work. I tried to just blur the background and couldn't get anything as good as yours or Wayne's. So I got rid of it.
