Canvas prints? - 06-30-2008, 02:25 PM

A friend is suddenly enamored with canvas prints (saw them at a photgraphy competition in Midlothian) and wants to have a couple done of her travel photos. A couple of good sources to pass on to her would be appreciated...
Thank you,
Steve W

I've ordered from Simply Canvas and Canvas on Demand. Both companies have given me stellar products. Simply Canvas may take a bit longer than Canvas on Demand if I recall correctly.

I LOVE the canvases and have one of my kids (24" x 36") And plan to get several more of them to fill the house and show as samples!

Is there one type of photo that is better suited to canvas instead of paper?

MPIX does canvas as well.

I haven't done any, but the stuff I've ordered/received through MPIX has been great. Their customer service rep I've dealt with was great as well.

I use a local vendor in McKinney -- they are awesome...they do wonderful canvases -- several depths available...the wrapped gallery canvas or the canvas for framing. They also do watercolor fine art prints. And, their prices are less than everyone else around...

Great guys...dad and son...

Their web site isn't really indicative of what they have/do, but their info is:

Tell them Annette sent you!

I will just say...the watercolor fine art prints that I've been getting there from them are blowing my brides away! I've had several bookings that said "I have to have one of those!" I have a bunch of 11x14 prints that they did for me -- I have them leave "air" for matting around the edge and they present SO well...

They are $12 apiece for photographers! And as my grandmother said, you can't beat that with a stick...

If you look at it and think, 'damn, that could be a painting.' Then its good for canvas.
