If you haven't downloaded the beta (I haven't) but are curious about what's new, here's a little something to whet your appetite.

I downloaded Beta 2 the day it was announced. I haven't used 1.4.x since.

I too downloaded the beta back in day 1..

However, I reverted back as my plugin scripts didn't work with it and Adobe stated that the beta catalogs would not be compatible with the final release catalogs. Regardless, I think 2.0 is a very nice upgrade and will definitely be using it.

OK, I just installed it. Although it won't read LR1 catalogs, I guess I can play around so I'll be familiar with it at final release.

I installed it the first day the beta came out. I love it and have not used the 1.4.1 version since. I really enjoy the native 64bit version of Lightroom beta. It is fast, especially on a raptor HD with 8GB of memory. Lightroom screams...

Shoot, even my old tired bones would scream with 8GB of RAM.

The site says it expires 30 days after you download. Is that a lie, or can you reload it?

Does anyone know if LR1 or LR2 support Camera Tethering?
If not, I'll just stick with Phase One's Capture One and upgrade to 4.1 or even upgrade to Apple's Aperture 2.0.

I think that's the trial version of LR1. The beta version expires at the end of the beta period, which is at the end of August.

No, that's what it says on the link above, to NAPP's Learning center, for LR2.

When will the beta expire?
The Lightroom 2 beta will expire 30 days after you install it.

That's strange and not what the Adobe site says.

So, does anyone know when the release will be. I'm ready to purchase LR but don't want to pull the trigger too soon. IOW, I want to buy late enough that I'll get 2.0 w/o paying to upgrade. I know, cheap!

Well, does that mean, with the beta expiring in Aug, that the finished program will be available at that time? It probably said, but I didn't read it all.

Adobe doesn't say, but there's more info here:
