Skin Tone Correction - 08-04-2008, 04:41 PM

I just recently did a wedding and in several pictures, the groom looks very red as compared to his lovely bride - who has an almost yellowish complexion. It is not the lighting or anything, he just has a bit of a ruddy complexion and when he gets animated, it shows more. Any ideas of how to tone this down where it looks natural?

Use hue/saturation adj layer using the red and normal skin parts for inclusion/exclusion then mask as needed the hue adjustment +5-10 on the yellows.

The above assumes you have color corrected the skin to expected tones based on CMYK mixes and a calibrated monitor in a consistent viewing environment.

For a good DVD on skin, try this: http://www.acmeeducation.com/varis/index.html

I'll try to post a shot. I don't know about the CMYK mixes tho. I do have a good calibrated monitor though.
