Batch Watermarking Software for Mac Needed. - 08-21-2008, 03:47 PM

I have been using a Program for the Mac called 'iWatermark' for quickly adding a watermark to batches of images.

I have just discovered that this program is increasing the file sizes of my images, significantly in many cases! It can make a folder of images 25% larger in file size after the watermarking. Images less than 8MB in size before watermarking become a full 8MB after, and images above 8MB are transformed into 16MB images afterwords. Either 8 or 16MB, one or the other!!! CRAZY!

(Email Support from this Business, Scriptsoftware.com, just isn't coming!)

Does anyone know of any other software for the Mac that can batch watermark, and properly scale the watermark to the image?

Paul
I use FastStone Photo Resizer on my PC. I don't know if it is Mac compatible but I like it a lot.

I have now heard back from the iWatermark author, but his message did not make a lot of sense to me so I have asked for more details.

Here is what he said.......
Quote:
Change the quality of the saved images down to about 60%. It happens
because the original images are not saved at 100%, so they equal <
8mb, but when iWatermark saves its images its created a 100% quality
file which creates a much larger file.
Does this make sense to anyone?
My original images ARE saved at highest possible quality! 100%

I have a photoshp action that will allow you to do that. Let me find out when I get home.

Of course you have to have cs2 or newer.

developer's website is down. care to upload it for us? rapidshare or something would probably work best. since it's freeware, i can't imagine we'd be breaking any forum rules, right?

email me, I'll send you the application zipped up in an email. I don't have the readme file or the terms of service, credits that go with it, just the app, so I don't want to upload it for everyone to use.
