Is there to way to hide a copyright for printing? - 09-23-2008, 07:23 PM

My question is...in Lightroom I can embed a copyright/watermark to my image files when burning a disc. I can also manipulate the size and resolution of these images...
all that is awesome...

But is there a way that a client could view the image from the disc on a computer fine...but if it is printed it would have a watermark on it?

Sort of like an image layer that only the printer would pick up when printed...not necessarily the computer's image viewer?

I want to offer my clients images on disc but there is no way...despite clearly stating in the contract...to prevent them from blowing up horribly pixelated prints that are 'showing' my work. That's not my work! Its the printers work!!

The long discussion of copyrights and watermark's continues....any advice?

I don't know of a way to do that, but I think most people know how the print screen button works. Even if they are just using MS Paint, they are still going to get your image. If people want to be dishonest, they will spend the 30 seconds on google to figure out how to do it. The only decent way I have found that makes it hard for people to steal is to make a DVD slideshow and tell them to watch it on thier TV. You can also set it to music that way. Has a nice effect.
