Hey there seems to be a trend growing right now for photos with grunge looks. Anyone have any tips on how to do this?

It's not really new, but more of a fad that seems to come and go. The 'grunge' look can be achieved with many techniques. Brushes, Layer Styles, and color treatments are just a few examples. Look threw the links below and find some samples.

If you're using LR2, there's a preset at the Exchange you might want to play with.
