Virtual Photographer http://www.optikvervelabs.com/default.asp
This free plug-in for PhotoShop and PaintShop Pro has a lot of cool presets for portraits, as well as many BW conversions. It has a large series of it's own plug-ins available, too. Neat Image http://www.neatimage.com/
I use NeatImage's noise reduction program on photos taken at high ISO. It's also a quick, free download. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

A neat little program that easily adds a watermark to your images. It can batch process and its pretty fast. You make your watermark in PS and it takes care of the rest. http://www.watermark.studigotchi.com/index.htm

Pixort http://www.pixort.com
Displays each picture in a folder (and optionally, subfolders) one at a time, and allows you to categorize them. Group 1, group 2, etc. Then, you can get Pixort to move or copy each group to separate folders. Makes sorting pictures really fast. I mainly use it to do the good picture / bad picture sort when I have a lot of shots to go through. Has free and shareware versions. The freeware version is not very limited. RawShooter Essentials http://www.pixmantec.com/products/ra...ssentials.html
A free raw file converter. This is a really great program. Very fast realtime preview. Does batch conversions in the background. Get it before they start charging for it!

Use the thumbnail in Irfanview...simply hit "T" and find the folder you have your images to edit. Allow the program to load the whole folder, then double click on the first one. That will bring it almost full screen. Hit the space bar to move forward and delete to kill the image. If you need to backup one image, simply hit the backspace key.
This is a very easy way to edit while on the road and get rid of bad shots.

I always create a new folder and upload my shots to it from the camera.
Then to get a fast, easy first view of my shots, I use Irfanview's slideshow.
Just navigate to the new folder, "add all" to the slideshow, and they display full screen, very fast, no noticable file load time.
I have the file name display turned on, and can make notes of which ones I want to edit, or if they are hopeless, which ones to delete.
Very fast and easy.
I just wish you could do basic file management from the slideshow, such as delete, move to another folder, etc., but I guess that's not really what a slideshow is intended for. |

I can't believe no one has mentioned The GIMP. http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-win/
I haven't found a better free image editor with the power GIMP has! (note* Install the GTK+ file before installing the main program.) | | | |

Oscars JPEG Thumb-Maker
I use this program to resize entire folders mostly when Im resizing for the web. Then I run it again to make all the thumbnails. One really nice feature is that it compensates for landscape / portrait orientation. It will automatically recognize which it is and size accordingly.
I think its really worth taking a look at this program. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/oscarthumb.html
