GIMP users (or more for photoshop people) - there is an interface makeover for the GIMP called Gimpshop that makes it look more like photoshop, so you'll feel more comfortable using it.

Also, there's a really neat image browser I've been looking at called ImgSeek. It's written in python. Windows users will need to download python to use it. (
http://www.python.org) Linux typically comes with python. You can get the source code too, if you're curious to see how it works. The thing I like about it is that it can search for pictures based on similarity - color, where a bright spot is, shapes (I think that's how it works). I'm looking to maybe use some of that code to put such a feature on a dynamically generated website. It also has very powerful batch-editing capabilities, such as meta-file modifying. 20d people might find this useful to include the crop factor in their focal lengths from the EXIF data.
