Portrait Processing Help?? - 10-12-2008, 08:02 PM

I am looking for a quick way to process skin on the face of a portrait.

I have the magic skin action, but it doesnt seem to work to well, maybe its me.

I want to be able to smooth wrinkles and my biggest problem is removing bags under eyes with out being too obvious.

If anyone can help or point me in the direction of a free action that will help, please let me know
Thanks

There are a few ways to do bag removal, so I don't know what you've tried yet. You can...

Create a new layer and use the clone tool or the patch tool at full strength, and then change the opacity of the layer till it looks natural.

Use the clone tool on lighten at 20-50% and "swipe" under the eyes, sampling smooth skin from the cheek.

Use the patch tool and then "fade" after each patch... this is messy and I don't like doing it this way, because it's more efficient to change the opacity of a layer than to try and back off the strength of the patch.

Taking the bags or dark circles out completely can look fake, but even babies have dark circles that can use some lightening.

I use Portaiture as well, but it is not free. I think I paid for it though in its first use a client loved how the plugin made her look.

I also use portraiture. The great thing about this plug-in is the ability to select the tone (or tones) you want to smooth with the eyedropper... and that it has several sliders so you can adjust the skin to exactly what you want:)
