I saw this too late to help, but I just did it for practice. I'm trying to learn how to retouch eyes using some of the tutorials out there. This one involves lightening the iris on the side opposite the catch light and enlarging the pupil a bit.

This looks great too! If it is practice you want I have plenty of people pictures you can play with. I may have some parents who would pay extra to have someone do some extra touch ups.

I would just like to comment on how very different each photographer can make the same single photo look. It really highlights how unique creativity really adds to the style and portfolio of the photographer.

Here is mine. I did color adjustment, Dodge and burn, sharpen and a minute bit of spot healing and clone tool.

In my dodging I helped with the puffy eyes and lightened the eye color so they popped. In my burning I added a bit more shadow under the left chin because it faded into his neck and looked flat, the extra shadow made it more 3-D. I darkened the background with the burn so his skin tone was more of a contrast.

I healed the pupils to remove the reflection of the photographer and people looking on and a bit of red eye around the pupil. He also had a fray on his sleeve on the right that bugged me so I got rid of the loose strings.
