I know this may be a dumb question, but can someone explain to me exactly what a brush is in PS? I always thought it was what you used to paint something on but I see all these brush applications with different designs so I am know confused (as always LOL)

Think of the design brushes as Stamps. ;)

You can make your own too... alot of folks use a preset brush with their logo for watermarking.

how do you make the preset brush for a watermark...its probably on here somewhere eh??

This is where you download for brushes. If it sent you to home, put in search box "Brushes" it will pop up. That's what I used all the time to put brushes on my photo work. Like this.....
