Lightroom: Rounded corners - 11-12-2008, 04:34 PM

I totally discovered this by accident. I was messing around with the post crop vignettes.

Pick any photo in Lightroom. Then go to the Develop module. Open the Vignettes section. Under Post-Crop, move the Midpoint, Roundness, and Feather sliders all the way to the left. You won't see anything happen yet. Now move the Amount slider to either -100 or +100. BAM! You have rounded corners! You can also adjust the Midpoint and Roundness sliders to create different effects.

Is this only on LR 2.0 and not the older version?

I managed to get some very dark corners with 1.4. Without examples from both versions, it's hard to know if they are the same.

Good stuff. I think I saw this mentioned in a tutorial video by Matt Kloskowski a while back.

post crop is in version 2.0
being doing that for a while now, you can make black or white borders as well.

I know how to do black and white but is there any way to do any other colors or cut the rounded area off the photo all together?

Not in Lightroom (LR is not made for that), but there is always Photoshop.
