Best way to PP large amounts of files - 11-17-2008, 09:27 AM

So I take sports pictures for my website and sell them. The problem is that in every game I'll take 500+ pictures. Lately I've been doing Football and obviously at night. So I almost have to always adjust levels on every image. Is there a better way to PP large amounts of files and if any of you can share some advice.

If you use the raw tool you can adjust the levels on one and apply it to all(can be used on JPG originals too with preference settings).

Also there is a batch feature where you can record your changes and run it on all pictures in a folder. File -> Automate -> Batch Use the actions window to record what you do to one picture then use the batch to apply it to all of them.

Light Room for raw or Photoshop Elements has a "Process Multiple Files" feature that contains an Auto Levels capability .( I have not tried the levels thing in PSE, but have used it for other things like adding a "PROOF" watermark) What about Digital Photo Pro that comes with Canon cameras?

I use Bibble for all my sports images. I don't get layers or anything else but I can run thru and make levels and white balance adjustments in addition to color, contrast and sharpening for a sporting event in less 20 min. I use Lightroom for normal shooting but it can't beat Bibble for sports especially since Noise Ninja is a plug in for Bibble and it works in batch mode at the same time as the rest of the adjustments.
