Raw to JPEG and color question - 11-17-2008, 10:21 PM

I decided it was time to start shooting in RAW, and then processing and saving in JPEG. I used I-photo and Photoshop Elements 6 and saved them to my desktop. I upped the saturation some for color and then saved in jpeg. When I open them up from the saved file on my desktop they look great, and when I send them in e-mail they come thru the same color. Now, when I upload them on here or to walgreens to print they come up in subdued colors. So why are they coming up looking like 2 different pictures as far as the colors? I appreciate any help anyone might have. Thanks, Kevin

No, the same one that opens up in vibrant colors on my Mac and e-mails and opens up the same , but when I upload the file to this site or Walgreens for their photo link it comes up in the muted colors, the same file.

Are you using sRGB?

Some apps (many on a Mac) are colorspace aware and will deal with Adobe RGB, etc...but most expect and will only show sRGB and will wash out images saved in another colorspace other than sRGB.

Convert your images to sRGB and try again.
