Wacom Tablet Question? - 12-15-2008, 03:26 PM

I have CS4 and Wacom Intuos tablet.

Can someone tell me why when using the pen with the tablet that sometimes the stroke starts out the full size of the brush no matter how much pressure I start with. This happens maybe every 4th or 5th brush stroke.

On most of the strokes it starts out as if it is sensing the pressure properly and I can vary the flow by applying more or less pressure on the pen.

I have tried adjusting the settings but have not found the solution.

Have you installed the latest firmware/drivers from Wacom?

If so, do some testing outside of PS. My Wacom came with some little tools to let you doodle on the desktop and such. See if it's working correctly there. If it's not, I'd contact Wacom. If it is then it may be a PS issue. Best you can do it probably post on the Adobe support forums.

Darrell:
If your pen has been dropped on its point it may hang as you try to apply pressure (it is supposed to let the point move in and out freely maybe .2 millimeter). In my case a new pen fixed the problem. See if you can borrow another pen from someone to try out. Otherwise, I don't know.
