Why does LR hate me?? - 01-15-2009, 09:25 PM

I swear everytime I use this program I have issues...maybe its just because I have issues???

Anyway, yesterday I imported and exported beautifully...today, import went smoothly...but it won't export? I thought I was exported the same way, but it keeps saying there is an error. I don't want to start over, as I just got all 57 photos the way I want them...i prefer not to start over??? Please help this poor soul....

Renae
There is a highly secret aspect of LR that most don't understand.
If you don't have an avatar on TPF, no export for you

Can you be more specific about the error?

It doesn't matter if I try to do all 57 photos or just one, I click export with presets, and when it is done, the box comes up that says, an error occurred while exporting. 57 photos failed to export. Then you get to choose ignore or show in library.

Tom....I have an avatar now...thanks for the inspiration!!!!!!!!! : )

Not sure what version of LR you have. This topic has been discussed on the Adobe LR forum. Have you checked Adobe support. Here is a thread with some possible solutions. Where you renaming the output files? Have any drive letters changed.

Quote from the thread:
Quote:
So as not to be a onetime brusque user, I thought I’d report back…

It seems Lee’s suggestion worked. Synchronizing one image from each malfunctioning folder with the original import location brought everything back. I do have a lingering question, though, should anyone have thoughts on the subject. I had not moved or renamed any of the affected files outside of LR. In fact, I hadn’t renamed anything within LR either. A handful of images from each folder had been renamed on export and saved as distinct files in a new location outside LR. But the original files (outside LR) remained untouched. Would the renaming at export cause this problem? And, if yes, is there a way to rename select images without causing LR to lose track?
Or , it could be that Avatar thing. I'm thinking sticking out your tongue is only going to angry the Adobe Gods.

You should have the XMP files that are paired with your images. With that you shouldn't loose any data or time invested. If you like you can upload the images with the XMP files to my FTP. I'll export and send them back. Let me know.

Could you put that in English...please??? If you can help...I'll do it.. I hope I just saved them in a cataloge and am going to restart lr and see if that helps...???

Well I don't need any more help. apparently the Avatar Gods are happy with me now :) I saved the files in LR> Closed it, opened it again...and viola...it worked right.

Thanks for the laugh tonight !!! I do have a sense of humor--I have children
