CS4 Crashing w/ External Drive - 01-19-2009, 05:22 PM

I've installed CS4 and everything is working fine from either of my internal drives. But when I try to access photos from my external hard drive, the program crashes. I can transfer any of my files to an internal drive and all is well.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

What is the operating system you are using?

I have Vista 64bit. When I have my external Hard drives connected, 2 out of 5 times it doesn't shutdown. So now I unplug the drives before shutting the system down.

I am wondering whether CS4 will work properly if you connect the drives after you boot the system.

I'm on plain ol' XP on a PC - and didn't have this issue with CS3. I check preferences to see if there was something odd pre-set, but didn't find anything.

Any and all ideas appreciated.
