Looks to me like you've pushed the contrast a bit too far. The hair looks unnaturally dark now, and you've lost the color in the eyes.

Somewhere in the middle looks good to me. Just opened it in camera raw and adjusted the temperature a bit. May have taken it a bit too much though.

Hm, thanks for your comments. I guess that my preference is to push the contrast, the images seem to POP more to me than when I don't. I will take into consideration, but I'm finding that this is my style, I guess.

I do agree that it's a bit blue. Poor babe looks cold.

I will disagree about it being too blue. I think you need just a hint of magenta in there. See on the back sides of his hair? Well, it looks a little green. Just a touch though.

IMHO
None match the color, texture and feel of the original. Sometimes it looks great right out of the camera. Leave it alone.
Look how the bump in contrast makes the spots on the face and hair MORE noticeable.

But now you have to get it printed. Where if not sent to the right printer, all this work will be undone. And photographers wonder why their prints don't look right.

I have to agree the first photo looks the best. When you bump the saturation, the blue in the background comes out too much and takes away from the face...and makes the lips look blue!!

Watch your color. In most cases, I think is more important than the contrast. You want the skin to have a natural color.

I like the warmth in the original. Why change it too much?

I also like the warmth and look of the first one the best.
