Depends on the type of person you are.
Are you comfortable with managing files on your own? Or would rather have the software manage all the files.

Bridge will catalog files on directories that you've created, where as iPhoto will manage those photos in its own folders and uses a database to catalog the photos. iPhoto will also make it easier for you to search for specific photos based on your tags.

However, after your photo collections grow larger, iPhoto will also become sluggish.

Another more expensive option and more capable are Lightroom and Aperture. These two are like iPhoto on steroids when it comes to cataloging and managing your photos.

Personally I use Aperture. But give both of them a try before deciding.

iphoto is starting to get sluggish. If I start using Bridge will I have any trouble when I switch to Lightroom or Aperture? I want to get CS4, for now elements 6.0 is matching my post processing ability.
