I use a Graphire 4 6x8. It is my second tablet. My first was a Graphire 3 4x5. I hope to get an Intous 6x8 or 9x12 in the coming months.

Yes, I use a tablet, but not for PP. I use it for digital art in PS. I'm still coming up on the learning curve, but my daughter is very very good at it.

Just picked up a Genius F509 from Newegg this week. It really speeds up cleaning up dust and scratches from scanned negatives, among other things.

I wish I had a good tablet. I used to use one for my AutoCAD class (the old puck and tablet setup), and it was so much better than a mere mouse. Maybe someday.

I actually bought mine as a refurb. From B&H, but I think they have a reseller deal or something with Wacom. At any rate, I've never had a problem with mine, I've had it for like 3 years now.

I tried to use one for a while, but I didn't feel like I ever had control. I think if I could afford a monitor tablet I would like it, but I can't justify the cost when I think I do fine with a mouse.

I'm the total opposite of Melissa, lol.
I don't have enough control with a mouse and feel like I have much more natural control with the tablet, especially because of the pressure sensitivity. It's just more natural for me and probably has something to do with being used to drawing and painting. I use the tablet for photoshop, illustrator, even surfing the web if I'm too lazy to put the pen down and grab my trackball. lol
Almost 15 years ago, not long before trying my first tablet, I made the switch from using a mouse to using the Kensington Turbo Mouse trackball. I found that gave me much better control in photoshop than a mouse did, especially since you never ran out of mouse pads space. It made drawing paths and tracing things much much easier.

So what are the basics of buying one...I'veheard pressure sensitive is a good investment. I've also heard you don't want to go too big as you feel like you are drawing all over the wall. But surely there is an in between too big and too small. I would think that PP an eye would no be good on a 4 x 6?
