Watermark how?

This is a discussion on Watermark how? within the Post Processing Central forums, part of the Photography Information category; I'm curious on how this lower/upper thirds watermark is done, with the low opacity exposure drop and whatnot. Any ideas? ...

You mean how they created it? I would imagine in Illustrator. It's pretty simple actually. Once you've got your .ai file you just import it into Photoshop and add it as a layer. I think a lot of folks add an action for that so they can batch add their logo.

I created mine in PS, which could be made into an action and would take about 5 seconds to put on an image. Easy.
Just made empty rectangular layer with stoke style at 50% opacity.
Another rectangle layer filled with black at 50% opacity.
Two Type layers for the text.
Then flattened.

Sweet thanks everyone! I've been trying to but it get's weird when I create the new shape. It's vertically larger with portrait-orientation photos (when running the action).

Have the action pause at the point you make your rectangles so you can make the shape you want to fit the image.
