Lightroom-Images have a yellow cast. - 02-20-2009, 01:49 PM

I have been using lightroom for a while. Recently, as soon as I import the images, they have a very yellowish tone. This causes me to not be able to color correct properly. Does any one know why this might be happening? I am about to the computer and then .

Check to make sure you don't have a particular preset to be applied during import.

I have checked all the settings to see if I might be applying some kind of setting or profile. As far as I know(and I don't know much about lightroom) everything looks good.

Have you tried optimizing your library? Might not have anything to do with it, but you never know. Is your WB set to "As Shot" in the Develop module?

Sorry, how do I optimize the Library? I have checked the WB, it is set to as shot.

I meant "Catalog" not Library. :-)

Go into Edit > Catalog Settings | General tab, and click the "Relaunch and Optimize" button.

It will basically refresh your catalog. Don't worry, you're images will still be there with all the changes. I've done this several times.

Do the images have a yellow cast when shown with other software? How about on other computers?

No, the images are fine in any other software and other screens. It's just Lightroom, for some reason it just apears to have a yellow cast, so what I see is not what I get, it looks like I would need to calibrate my monitor, but I don't because my monitor is already calibrated, if I calibrate to compensate for the yellow cast in lightroom then everything will be thrown off. It's so frustrating.

The next question is whether the yellow cast appears in the Develop module, in the Preview module, or in both?

Hey Duffy. I have checked my lightroom and yes they appear yellowish as soon as I import them, and all the way through.

Something is definitely off. Have you check every single setting in the Develop module (Basic, Tone Curve, Split Toning, etc.)?

You know, I have checked everything up and down. The only thing that will fix it is removing and re-installing the program. I just thought, if this were happening to someone else here. I would not have to do that again. It's happened twice before. I think, I will just do that again.
