problem exporting from LR2 to PS3... - 02-24-2009, 04:38 PM

I am new to LR2. I am simply trying to take a "copy with LR adjustments" (jpg) into PS3. When I do, nothing happens. Has anyone else encountered this problem? BTW, I'm using Tiger OS. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I've only done it a few times. I export my original TIFF files as DNG files and open in Photoshop. I never make JPEGs until I want a small file for the web.

I'd say make sure you're in Library mode, and just hit apple E. It's going to open up in PS as either a .psd or .tiff, but you can always save as jpeg from there.... Does that help? I know you can also export them to a specific folder as a jpeg and then open them up from there. Not 100% sure that you can go from LR to PS as a jpeg. Hope this helps.

Thanks Merrick. I installed an update last night and it fixed the problem.

And yes, my jpg's are transferring into PS as tiff's. When I go to save in PS, jpg is not an option. I'm a little confused right now and eager to learn more about LR.

BTW, I shoot 90% jpg and ~10% RAW. I hardly ever hear people speak of editing jpg's in LR, but I find it quite useful.

I don't do JPEGs except for the web. Surely Lightroom will transfer an edited RAW file to Photoshop. I think I have seen a drop down menu with an "open in another application" option. Convert to DNG is another option on the File menu.

When in Photoshop, check the mode. If the file is transferred as a 16 bit tiff, the option to save as a JPG will not be available. Convert it to 8 bit and it should be there.
