I could hurt myself!!! - 03-07-2009, 06:11 PM

Oh I hate it when I do something stupid!!! And know better!! I got a new back up camera..50D and thought the thing was shooting RAW and JPEG...apparently it wasn't...CRAP!!! So I have this shot and it is only in JPEG. I have been trying to fix it in LR, but I can't get it as good as the other one...

I had the white balance on flourescent on the 50D and the 5D was on flash like it was suppose to be...can you see a difference??? Oh this makes me crazy....Any suggestions???

Play with the Temp and Tint sliders and Split Toning controls to get the WB and warmth you're looking for.

Far from perfect, but is this a little better?

ETA: of course, on my computer, it's a lot warmer than the uploaded version. : (

I have NO idea what I'm doing wrong when I upload, but they NEVER look the same!

When you downres for the web, you have to apply a bit of sharpening. I am playing with your image right now. Having a bit of trouble with it though. The cheeks are a bit blown out so I am working on a way to remedy that. Hopefully.

thanks Andrew....do you have a generic action you use for sharpening for the web? I sharpened this one after I took it down to 700 pixels...that's what you are suppose to do right??

Not really.. I start at unsharpen mask 190, .3, 0

If that doesn't look good, I play around with it... But yes.. after you resize is where you apply the sharpening.
