I second Kelby Training. I'm in the process of going through several videos, and I like the fact that I can view them time and again. It's only $17.99/mo for NAPP members, and you can cancel at any time.

Johnny

As I said in my original message, Matt Kloskowski has a way of explaining things in his videos that really registers with me. I admit I'm more of a visual person than listening to audio or reading the manual. I suggest subscribing for one month and see what you think. I don't think you would feel as if you wasted your money.

The icing on the cake would be if you could download the lessons but sadly you can't. I think initially you could do that but they found the hole and plugged it.

I have looked over the samplers and have been considering joining myself.

I have spent a good portion of the weekend reading Kelby's book and love it. For the things lightroom does that photoshop CS4 does, Lightroom does mouch more elegantly

Another vote for the Kelby training. I have learned more about Photography and Photoshop in the last couple of weeks in the on-line Kelby training than I have in the last couple of years. I do a few lessons every evening and a few hours on the weekends. Well worth the 19.99/month I pay as a non-NAPP member. My dh loves it too. He has learned a lot about Dreamweaver and making his websites. We'll keep it for at least a couple months - still cheaper than most books and a lot more info.

I really enjoyed the ACR, HDR, panorama and Moose Peterson courses. Matt K did one of them and I agree, he was great.

You can watch the first 4 lessons in each training course for free to see if you are interested.

I will probably stop buying books altogether. Some are just too disappointing and as Able mentioned if you buy them locally, they are around $50 - that's 2.5 months of Kelby training which to me is worth a heck of a lot more than any book I've ever bought.

Regards,
Patti
