Interesting. Just another intrusion into an individuals right and ability to make his own judgements about things.

editing photos in magazines is older than I am.

Ever heard of an airbrush? Photostat? I watched my dad edit advertising photos all the time in the 60s. He learned it in art school in the 40s.

Who gets to decide what "negative body image" is? naturally skinny people or naturally fat people?

Next time the Germans invade France, can we just let them have it?

I think giving credit to the Photoshop tech is good idea.

Well-meaning Liberalism, run amok.

Humanity will continue to portray its ideals of feminine beauty, and women will continue attempting to reach those ideals.

After this you can only use natural, unmodified, lighting. The shadows may shape people to be more flattering than they really are. If people didn't want to see fantasy we wouldn't have artists.

I thought it was just implied that all pics that I see in magazines have some kind of retouching done...

IMO, when you're retouching a photo for a cosmetics ad in a way that makes the product appear to do something that it doesn't do, that really pushes toward false advertising: http://photoshopdisasters.blogspot.c...-poor-man.html

Also, i like the idea of crediting the Photoshopper, so we can see (and ridicule by name) the people responsible for things like this: http://photoshopdisasters.blogspot.c...command-v.html

Technicians have always received movie credits. They are below the line and are not artists.
