Please bear with me here, not trying to be difficult just want something simple. I am don’t care to do much of any PP. Software with Auto Fix is really all I need.
Let me tell you what I had, and maybe you can tell me what I can get that will get me the same thing.
My PC was just too old so I had to give it up. I had XP and would store all of my photos in My Pictures. I would then use the Nikon software Picture Project to import, highlight all and then hit Auto Fix. The computer would auto fix all of them and then ones that I wanted to change I could make small adjustments including cropping. All the changes that were made to the pictures were also made to the ones in MY Pictures, so then when I would view them full screen in the Windows Picture Viewer I could see the changes. Windows Picture Viewer also allowed me to delete photos very fast as I was going through them the first time. This is what I would like again, or something similar. Problem is you can't buy a PC with XP and doesn't make use of more then 3-4G of RAM and Vista won't do what I just described, and I just don't like Vista period.
I have had a Mac now for about 3 weeks; I like it, but hate it for photos because of the software. Using Aperture is more work then I want, and deleting and viewing full screen takes more clicks of a mouse then I want. Picture Project wont do what I described above, it only makes changes to pics in Picture Project. I have not found a way to go through pics quickly on the Mac, zoom in to check sharpness and delete quickly. I know how to do this on the Mac, I just have not found a way to do it as fast as I could on my old PC.
I hope that made some sense. I am to the point of buying a new PC and having a PC repair shop put XP on it. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

best suggestion, but it costs $...Adobe Lightroom 2 http://picasa.google.com/mac
Google's picasa for mac (FREE)
and technically you could simply install VMware Fusion http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion
or Paralells http://www.parallels.com
these would allow you to install Windows into a virtual environment, but I would suggest this unless you are somewhat techie

hey, if there is a PICASA for mac, try it. seriously. it's quite handy. I use it to sort keepers -vs-culls as first pass, even before moving them off the card.

Photoshop Elements was really easy to use and learn. It had an autofix feature as well. I now use Nikon CaptureNX 2. It is not as intuitive as PSE but I like the power it gives me in the NEF files.
I have been using a Mac for the last six years. I just upgraded to a new iMac 24" last weekend and loving the new Core 2 Duo 3.06 GHz processor. If I had to guess, PhotoShop Elements is what you are looking for. Simple to learn, easier to use, and some really great automated features. | | | |

If you want to work on an image with an outside editor, you need to set the preference to use it, then switch it back if you want to edit with the internal iPhoto edit features. http://www.macosxhints.com/article.p...60205204217171
