Getting text on to a batch of images (PS or Lightroom) - 04-03-2009, 12:30 PM

what is the easiest, simplest, least time consuming way to get text on to a large batch of images (like 600 images)?

i have an action set to get my logo on pics, but i need to just put my studio name on these, nothing particularly fancy. they're for another vendor to use on her site, and i know she can't credit the images on the gallery, just on her credits page (where there is no way of discerning which images belong to which photographer).

is there a way to export in lightroom with a text overlay?

Assuming all the images are the same size create a new action open one and put the text where you want it then flatten image and save and close stop the recording of the action
then go to file and automate then click batch and choose the new action that should work

Or you can create a droplet from photoshop and drop it on the folder with your images in it. I can't remember the procedure, but the command to create it should be under File -> Automate -> Create Droplet

is there an easy way to combat the problem that some are landscape and some portrait orientation? this has been my issue in creating a batch action. i need the text to be bottom right in all theimages, and they are different orientations.

I know there is a way to do it with the Automate when creating a webgallery in PS. But the simpliest way to do this, is with Picasa and the Export Picture to Folder... command under File menu.

Select all your files, use the Export command, set the size, and there is a place to insert your text. It'll be bottom right, and it will change color between black or white depending on the color it is overlaying.

Make sure all the copyright data for your photos is how you want it. In the Library module of LR select the photos you want and click on export.

Go through the export files pop up and make your choices on how you want the files exported and also select the Add Copyright Watermark checkbox in the metadata section.

As LR exports it will add your copyright watermark to each file.
