I would touch up all the spots that are dark and light, to give them a better look. Just to clean them up a little bit. No major changes. Just make them look like they got a good nights sleep. Also take a little of the red out of dad.

I selected his face with the lasso tool with a 10 pixel feather (this is variable depending on the pixels in the image). I then used Selective Color under Image>Adjustments. In the Red color I selected the Magenta slider and took out 15% of magenta. That took out the overall red.
That made his red veins worse, so using the clone tool I took out the major veins with an 80% opacity.
